    FAQs

What can I expect on my first visit?

Your first visit will last 60-90 minutes, including treatment. Your practitioner will review your intake form with you and discuss your goals. They will conduct a movement and postural assessment as well as palpate your spine to identify blockages.

You’ll then lie face-down on a treatment table for your first treatment. Your practitioner will apply gentle touch to specific spinal access points, primarily on the sacrum and cranium. Each Spinal Flow session lasts about 30 minutes.

Some people don’t feel a lot during the first session – that’s fine. There is no “right” sensation – your body will dictate what it is ready to release. The treatments have a cumulative effect and over time, you might notice greater emotional stability, reduced pain, better sleep, and an increased sense of calm and resilience.

How do I prepare for my session?
    • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Avoid clothing with thick seams or waistbands (like blue jeans).
    • You remain fully clothed throughout the session.
    • Be sure to fill out your entire intake form in advance..
    • Hydrate well before and after your appointment.
    What can Spinal Flow improve?
    • Increase mobility and improve posture
    • Reduce pain
    • Aid digestion
    • Boost immunity and regulate hormones
    • Improve sleep
    • Regulate your mood and promote resilience to stress
    How does Spinal Flow work?

Your spine is the superhighway connecting your brain to your entire body. Over time, physical, chemical, and emotional stressors create blockages along the spine, interfering with your spinal flow. The result can be pain, disease, or mental distress.

In every body there is a natural healing intelligence that flows through the nervous system. Spinal Flow Technique helps identify and release spinal blockages, promoting natural healing.

Does Spinal Flow hurt? What will I feel during the treatment?

Spinal flow is a very gentle approach. Your practitioner will use light pressure, primarily on the sacrum and cranium. During the session you may feel:

    • Subtle physical shifts or alignment
    • Subtle physical shifts or alignment
    • A wave-like movement or flow through your body
    • Emotional or energetic release
    • Deeper, more relaxed breathing
    • Relaxation or a sense of lightness
Do I need to do anything to prepare for a treatment?

Just be sure to wear light, loose-fitting clothes, as you will be clothed during the session. Hydrate well before and after your visit. Avoid clothing with thick seams or waistbands (like blue jeans).

Is Spinal Flow safe for everyone?

Yes! It’s safe for children, seniors, and even during pregnancy as there is no manipulation or force involved.

How many sessions will I need?

Each body is different. Some people feel changes right away, but for most people the effect is cumulative and results are evident over a series of sessions. The recommended course consists of twelve visits starting with three times per week for two weeks, then two times per week before moving to maintenance visits.

Can I try just one session?

You can, but Spinal Flow really requires multiple visits for you to feel significant results. The blockages caused by stress and physical injury are cumulative, and your body’s response is similarly cumulative.

Can I combine Spinal Flow with other treatments?

Yes. Many clients integrate Spinal Flow with massage, homeopathy, naturopathy, and other wellness modalities. Talk to your practitioner if you would like to combine Spinal Flow and massage during the same appointment.

    How did Spinal Flow originate?

Spinal flow was created by Dr. Carli Axford, who practiced as a chiropractor for 20 years prior to discovering this gentle approach to stimulating the body’s innate ability to heal. Spinal Flow is based on the spine’s integral connection to your body’s organs, glands, and other vital systems.
