We at Access know you may have some questions before your first scheduled appointment. Below are some Frequently Asked Questions to help you prepare for your appointment.
Q: Where do I park? Where do I enter the building?
A: We have a parking lot behind our building. Our door is the second one at the back of the building.
Q: Do I need to arrive early for my first massage session?
A: Yes, arriving 5 minutes early is suggested as you will need to fill out a brief medical history form.
Q: What should I share with my massage therapist before my massage.
A: You should share any and all health history information even if you think it is not pertinent to your massage session. Your therapist will take all your shared information to deliver the best massage techniques to address your needs. Your therapist will also ask you questions they feel are important to your session.
Q: What do I wear for a massage?
A: That is completely up to you. Some clients wear underwear and some wear nothing. You will be covered at all times and only the parts of the body your therapist is working on will be exposed. Your comfort is very important to us and communication is key if you are uncomfortable with any part of your massage session.
Q: Does massage therapy hurt?
A: Your therapist will work within your level of comfort. If you are receiving a relaxation massage the depth and pressure your therapist will be using is very different from what they will be using if you are receiving a sports or structural massage. Communication is key to receiving a comfortable and effective massage session.
Q: Will I need to shower afterwards?
A: No you should not need to shower afterwards. As a matter of fact, the oil/cream we use will feel great for your skin. NOTE: If you are attending dinner or an event after your massage, you would want to let your therapist know so she/he can avoid oil/cream from getting in your hair.
Q: Will I be sore after my massage session?
A: Although we strive to avoid muscle soreness, a deep tissue massage may cause some soreness. But after a few days of soreness you should feel great.
Q: How do I prepare for the Infrared Sauna? What do I wear?
A: It is very important to be hydrated before using an Infrared Sauna. You will be in a private room and the best thing to wear is your birthday suit but if you are more comfortable wearing your bathing suit, it is totally your choice.
Q: What should I expect at my infrared sauna session?
A: You should feel relaxed and more centered. You will be able to go about your usual activities after your session.
Q: How will I feel after my massage?
A: It depends what type of massage/bodywork you are coming in for. You may feel relaxed, invigorated, or just plain looser and able to move more freely.
Q: Can I purchase gift certificates for massage therapy of infrared sauna sessions?
A: Yes, please contact Valerie at 401-225-4128 or [email protected].
Q: What are your rates and how can I pay for my appointment?
A: Email us at [email protected] or call Valerie at 401-225-4128 for rates and payment options.
